Gladson Acasio dos Santos, the “Bitcoin Pharaoh,” used part of his fortune made through the criminal organization he created to purchase a jet plane worth 3.9 million reais. The plane was purchased in the United States with the help of Ricardo Rodriguez Gomez, who at one time participated in the cocaine trade with the Pablo Escobar cartel. Information from the newspaper Globewho had access to the federal police report on the case.
The aircraft was received in July 2021 under a leasing agreement. Everything was done on behalf of “BG & GAZ” LLC, whose partner was “Pharaon”. He was arrested the following month, in August, with the start of Operation Kryptos. The plane arrived in Brazil only in November of the same year.
Gomez was arrested in 2006. When approached by Bitcoin pharaoh and former pal Pablo Escobar, Gomez used a false name. In 2021, he began working with Gladson while already in North America, and investigations show that the first conversation between the two regarding the acquisition of the aircraft took place in February 2021.
At that time, Gladson asked Gomez to find a 19-seater plane capable of flying from Sao Paulo to Europe. When the plane arrived in Brazil, it changed hands several times. The last owner was an American company, according to the federal police.
