“We have not received official notification of a preliminary investigation into these two alleged crimes. The Ministry of State will inform us, and the president will appear in the office that I represent, and we will take appropriate action in the course of days,” said the lawyer of the head of state, Juan Carlos Portugal, to Canal N.

Portugal argued that Boluarte Zegara was not exercising his legal right to remain silent, but on the contrary, he had responded to subpoenas issued by prosecutors in previous cases – for example, during investigations after the deactivation of the police group supporting Eficcop, the Rolex case or meetings with former prosecutor Patricia Benavides .

So why didn’t Dina Boluarte announce that she was going to have surgery? Finally, Boluarte’s attorney described the alleged intervention as a “minor surgery” that did not affect his neurological or motor abilities to make decisions and formulate ideas during his presidency.
