DELAWARE – DeI don’t know The State Police has new technology that can greatly speed up the background check process.
“We serve children and we have to make sure the most important thing we do is the safety of the children and our students,” said Jason Cameron of the Seaford School District.
With the click of a finger, your potential employer can now check your resume within 5 days here at the State ID Office. “TThe Delaware State Police cooperated with IdentGO is a company that specializes in collecting applicants’ biometric data, fingerprints, which we use to identify these fingerprints someone’s employability and regardless of the industry they are applying for,” said Capt. John Lloyd.
It’s a service that’s been around for years, but now it’s more efficient. “Vwe have grown our footprint from 3 to 9 locations across the state. Tit provides greater availability to our customer base and also extends the hours of availability for people to submit their fingerprint,” explains Captain Lloyd.
Upgrades needed as Delaware State Police Capt. John Lloyd says this year’s inspection is necessity for certain types of employment. “Tit helps all industries that are required by law to check someone’s criminal history before hiring them, it helps them make those decisions more efficiently and quickly,” said Captain Lloyd.
These areas include health care, criminal justice, and the school system. OIn the rare event that your current background check fails, the Seaford School District advises that pre-employment action is being taken. “Ie something returns to CBC this doubtful, then the conversation, then you sign in this form. I always make a record in this form that we talked and we’re fine,” Cameron said.
Jason Cameron of the school district says that’s a big deal responsibility and a promise that the Seaford School District will prioritize safety.
“We want to be sure: parents entrust us with something important every day, the most important thing they have in the world. Their child, we take their education and their safety very seriously, so CBC ensures that the children who work with their children are compliant,” Cameron explained.
Before this change, the fingerprinting and verification process could take up to a month.
Police say when you come in to get checked, make sure you have a service code that will be processed correctly.
