Feirart brings together more than 800 artisans and crafts from across the state at Louise Tavora Square

Lace, leather, plant fibers, clay and a few other items will be on sale at the 63rd Ceart (Feirart) Craft Fair. The event takes place from 14 to 17 December from 17:00 to 22:00 at the Plaza Luisa Tavora in Fortaleza, where 814 artisans belonging to associations, production groups and individuals from all over the state will perform.

The traditional fair is facilitated by the Secretariat of Social Protection (SPS) through the Center of Ceara Handicrafts (CeArt) and is held to support the commercialization of Ceara handicrafts. “Feirart is already a regular event in our craft calendar. This is an opportunity to bring craftsmen and artisans closer to consumers, increase sales and appreciation of handicrafts,” emphasizes the Minister of Social Protection, Anelia Santana.

Over the course of four days, visitors will also have access to the works of 60 publicly selected artisans from the East Coast, West Coast, Kariri region and the capital. The opening will take place next Thursday (14), starting at 17:00, and will feature children’s programs from Espaço Mais Infância and a children’s presentation from Circo Escola. On this occasion, the winners of the 26th Handmade Nativity Contest will also be announced, with prizes ranging from R$8,000 to R$3,000 for the first five positions.

“This is a Cear Inclusive Sustainable Development Program fair designed by the Cear Government to increase the visibility and appreciation of our Cear artisans, ensure increased sales and strengthen our craft sector,” adds the Handicrafts Coordinator. of Ceara, Patricia Liebman.

The event will also feature the Gastronomy Space with a collaborative live kitchen hosted by Mercado AlimentaCE and the Ivens Dias Branco School of Social Gastronomy; and the Gastronomic Space, which consists of 10 exhibitors with vegan, Mexican food, acaraje, ice cream, craft beer and more. In addition, free Ceart workshops will be offered daily for participants.

The fair will be decorated and decorated with lace from Ceara, highlighting the lace from Praigny. Three of them will be at the RendaCE exhibition, and six will be at Galeria Ceart. The space also features an exhibition of the Ceart Christmas tree, made from babin’s lace, in honor of Ceart women from all over Ceara.

The program also features a Sear’s Christmas Without Hunger toy collection during the four days of the fair, targeting children served by Sear’s Hunger Free Program kitchens.
