For distributors, gasoline is reduced, and diesel fuel is increased

As of this Saturday (21), the average price of fuel sold by distributors will be 2.81 reais per liter, a decrease of 0.12 reais per liter. Since the gasoline sold at gas stations is a mandatory blend of 73% gasoline A and 27% anhydrous ethanol, Petrobras’ share will average 2.05 reais for each liter sold at the gas station.

The average selling price of diesel for distributors will be 4.05 reais per liter, an increase of 0.25 reais per liter. Since it is necessary to mix 88% of Diesel A and 12% of biodiesel to produce diesel sold at gas stations, Petrobras’ share will average 3.56 reais for each liter sold at the gas station.

Year-to-date, selling prices for gasoline A and diesel A for distributors are down by 0.27 reais per liter of gasoline and 0.44 reais per liter of diesel.

“The commercial strategy we adopted at Petrobras during this administration has proven successful, especially in terms of making the company competitive in the market and avoiding the transfer of volatility to the consumer. The proof of this is that during this year, even if the price of Brent is higher than last year, the prices of our products have accumulated a fall, very different from what happened during 2022,” said Petrobras President Jean-Paul Prates .

Petrobras reports that the adjustments of gasoline and diesel are explained by various shifts in the market and in the commercial strategy of the state-owned company. In the case of gasoline, the period of peak global demand is coming to an end, with greater availability and devaluation of the product compared to oil. In the case of diesel, global demand remains flat with seasonal growth expected, making the product more valuable compared to oil. The company also stressed that it strives not to pass on the volatility of the international market and exchange rate to Brazilian society, but also maintains a competitive environment in accordance with current legislation.
