The federal government will extend Desenrola Brasil for another three months. The decision was published this Tuesday, the 12th, in the Official Gazette of the Union.
The debt restructuring program expires on December 31, but under this measure, it will not end until March 31, 2024. Desenrola covers bad debts between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2022.

Just last week, the Secretary of Economic Reforms of the Ministry of Finance, Marcos Barbosa Pinto, already announced the extension.
According to him, the ministry is discussing with banks and B3 a way to remove the requirement to have a silver or gold Gov.br account, but this maintains the level of security of the platform. The goal is to make it easier for more people to access the platform.
Another point that the secretary commented on was that after the extension period of the program, the government is considering keeping the Desenrola platform online so that creditors and debtors can continue negotiations.
However, this will not be guaranteed by the Fund for Guarantee Operations (FGO), the National Treasury fund that covers potential defaults by those who join the review.
Unfolding: What are the rules for Track 1?
How people with income up to two minimum wages or registered in the Unified Register (CadÚnico) will be considered in Track 1 of the program. The contract of operations can be executed only in electronic form.
Thus, they will be able to negotiate debts of up to 20,000 reais incurred between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2022.
In the debt financing option, the debt repayment rules are as follows:
- The maximum interest rate is 1.99% per month
- The minimum grace period is 30 and the maximum is 59, depending on the date of the conclusion of the contract of the new credit operation and the term of payment of the first installment
- To conclude a new credit transaction by December 31, 2023
- The minimum payment term for operations is two months, the maximum is 60
- Minimum plot 50 R $
- The installments remain the same throughout the payment period
According to the publication, payday loan debts will be covered by the program, but the following conditions do not apply:
- Debts with a real guarantee
- Rural credit debts
- Debts for real estate financing
- Transactions with third party financing or risk
This unfolds: What are the rules for Track 2?
People from monthly income up to R$ 20 thousand considered in Track 2. They will have the right to review debts registered before December 31, 2022 and which remain active. The debtor will have at least 12 months to pay.
Payments can be made on a digital platform or through channels specified by financial agents and must meet the following conditions:
- Debts that are registered in the register of non-payers as of 12/31/2022 and that are active on the date of publication of the Resolution (June 28)
- Borrower with monthly income equal to or less than R$ 20,000, confirmed by financial agents
- The term of the credit transaction is until December 31, 2023
- The minimum payment period for operations is twelve months.
However, debts that:
- Related to rural credit
- Have a guarantee from the Union or a public organization
- Do not assume the credit risk that is completely assumed by financial agents
- Have any type of forecast of the contribution of public resources
- There is any equalization of interest rates by the Union.
In this range, lenders do not have a guarantee from the National Treasury.
