Hunin: Minsa brought health services closer to local communities Perene | News

A total of 5,800 comprehensive services were provided by the Ministry of Health (Ministry of Health) through the Department of Indigenous and Indigenous Peoples Affairs (DPI) in coordination with the Perené Health micro-network in 38 of the 52 indigenous communities of the Perené District in remote areas of the Hunin Region.

Every weekend, a health care team consisting of a doctor, dentist, psychologist, nurse, obstetrician, nutritionist, medical technologist, nurses and integrated health insurance (SIS) staff arrives very early to provide preventive care with the sole purpose of integrating them into their right to receive medical care.

The director of the DPI, Eden Galan Rodas, emphasized that Minsa is committed to the indigenous population that was the first to set foot on the lands of the Villa Perené area and provides care that respects their origin by saving and adapting medical facilities with an intercultural approach.

This intervention is part of the “Comprehensive Plan for Health Protection and Strengthening of Health Services with a Cross-Cultural Approach in the Territory of Indigenous or Indigenous Peoples for 2024”, approved by Ministerial Resolution 1175-2023.

The aim of the plan is to contribute to improving the health of the indigenous or indigenous population in the face of common diseases by strengthening health services with an intercultural approach in the regions of Loreto, San Martin, Madre de Dios, Ucayali, Amazonas, Cuzco, Junin, Huanuca, Pasco , Cajamarca and Ayacucho.

Other goals are to increase the response capacity of primary care facilities, which prioritize common diseases, in the 11 regions with the largest concentrations of indigenous Amazonian populations; expand this population’s access to culturally relevant health care services at the primary care level and implement preventive promotional strategies for comprehensive care.

Perene is the largest district of Chanchamayo province (60% of the area); There are more than 240 settlements and 52 indigenous communities.
