The unemployment rate fell from 9.4% in July to 9.2% in August, data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) showed.

The number of unemployed decreased by 56 thousand from July to 3.22 million in August.
The unemployment rate among men was 7.5 percent and among women 12.6 percent, TÜİK said.
Turkey had about 65.5 million people over the age of 15, and the country’s total labor force was 34.9 million in August, with 31.7 million employed.
The employment rate fell slightly from 53.4 percent in July to 53.3 percent in August.
The employment rate of the population did not change and amounted to 48.4 percent.
The unemployment rate among the country’s youth aged 15 to 24 dropped from 17.9% in July to 17.2%.
The unemployment rate among men and women was 14.2 percent and 22.7 percent, respectively.
The government predicts that the unemployment rate will be 10.1 percent in 2023 and 10.3 percent the following year.

According to government forecasts, the unemployment rate will fall to 9.9 percent in 2025 and further decline to 9.3 percent in 2026.
