incredible project background and family drive

“One afternoon my three younger brothers (Giovanni, 10, Yael, 8 and Yandel, 7) were playing entrepreneurship because we have a mother who always fills our heads with big dreams, and each of them brought a business idea to the game for when I I will be older. So I thought of creating an artisanal ice cream cart, and the name came about because we had nothing at first, just an idea. But with the help of my dad, mom and my brother Walter, a dream was born that we call Dulce Amor because that’s what my family represents to me.”

It’s another hot day in the region and Florencia Vallejos (25) thinks she will have a good clientele, so while she tells LM Cipaletti about the good start of her business, she prepares her stall for the day.

Check out the small table and of course its wonderful story… “I have always had a part-time job to pay for my education and in December 2023 I graduated with a degree in nursing. For now, I’m only dedicating myself to my stroller until I find a job, but I will always dedicate time and effort to Dulce Amor. We have a lot of plans for the future,” emphasizes the Jordan Island ice cream maker in its second commercial season.

His stall is on Calle Julio Dante Salta, on the curve that leads to the new bridge. When she is not there, his faithful mother Roxana, a well-known nurse in town, always looks after him with a smile. He started from the bottom with the unconditional support of those around him and continued with determination, quality and likeability.

“The cart was given to my father as partial payment for the mason’s work. It was broken, dirty and old, but when I asked him for it, he did not hesitate to give it to me, he did not hesitate in our project. My brother fixed all the windows and doors, my dad got the water and electricity up and got it ready for me to put it into service… To tell you the truth, we really enjoyed the process of fixing it up, painting it and conditioning it, hours and nights spent on the Island, at my parents’ house . Friends are always inevitable,” he recalls with joy and pride the difficult family work of starting a mobile ice cream cafe and all the preparations.

His eyes sparkle when he talks about the growth of the business. “We started producing ice cream in small quantities, but the demand grew more and more, we also made colored capelins, also an idea for the little ones…”, he emphasizes.

She tries different flavors herself to control the quality and clarifies that “everything is fresh”.

“For now, we sell ice cream in scoops. As we grow, we will also be adding smoothies. Prices? We offer one standard bed for $1,200, two for $1,600, three for $2,000,” he explains, admitting that the most popular flavors are “forest fruit and lemon a la queen.”

Jokes about capelin and dirty faces…

A shy smile turns to laughter as he recalls the funny situations he experienced in the process with his brothers.

“When I cooked my first capelin, they didn’t come out, and my brothers still ate them and said they were delicious… I learned everything. Later, while I was leaving the jar of ice cream in the fridge, he and his nephew came over to eat what we had just made, and when I asked, no one did anything but a face full of ice cream and sauces gave them away. ..”, this sister reveals with pure laughter. the greatest accomplice.

Maybe that’s why he gets so much from the other side… “My younger brothers grew up with me in this, there were times when I couldn’t go to the studio and they had everything and supported it so it could be sold. . They were so excited for us to learn that they didn’t want it to stop working. They always see something bigger and that motivates me even more. Those who have shopped know that one of the things that define us is good service and attitude towards our customers and if you are ever served by one of them you will hear their gentle and charismatic ‘hello , neighbor, how nice to have you” ‘, haha,” says Flor excitedly, her chest puffing out with emotion.

Brave mom and big dad

You can see the idolatry she feels for her great role model, her mirror, her mother… “She’s also a nurse, she loves her profession and I’m trying to be as good as she is.” And he also expresses admiration for his father: “Everything we have is thanks to his efforts.”

“When I grew up, my mother started guiding us to invest and grow with something of our own. My dad Luis is a bricklayer, the support of the whole family, everything we have is thanks to him, our house, now my brother’s house. Everything we earn in the basket, I give to him, he buys materials and is already devoting himself to making an ice cream parlor on Jordan Island. Without him, nothing would be possible. He has character, he taught us not to be afraid of anything, I leave the sweets to my mother (laughs),” he praises his parents.

He pauses and hands two scoops of ice cream (Banana Split and Oreo) to his neighbor, which the woman tastes with pleasure. (“Mmm, what a delicacy,” says the satisfied customer).

“With my brother Walter, we are closer than anyone, he was my childhood friend, he already has his own family, my nephew Tadeo and my daughter-in-law, who are important to us. At the age of 24, Walter already has his own discoveries and the aluminum company MyM, which, thanks to all his efforts, does not stop growing. Yes, we will believe that he left the job without fear and grows not by days, but by hours. Also, my daughter-in-law Camilla is a genius and she’s pregnant,” she says with the deep love she feels for her loved ones.

A dream of expansion

Positive and with great drive, Flor admits: “Our dream is to complete the ice cream shop on the island, and step by step we are succeeding. Another dream would be to expand to downtown or other locations, always with our name Dulce Amor summarizing our story.”

“We have regular customers who are our neighbors, they always wait for us to announce that Dulce Amor has opened for a neighborhood group to come visit us. We will always be grateful to them. Then new people walk all the time and every time they return to Jordan Island, they undoubtedly pass by the corner where the cart stands,” she says gratefully.

“We are there every day from 5:00 p.m. until there is no one left. On busy days, we usually stay until the last person. On Saturdays and Sundays, we start at 4 p.m.,” he warns.

Finally, she describes herself as “very restless since childhood, engaged in various activities and sports. My mom called me Mariposa because I want to experience everything in one day. I have many male brothers, I love football, which is now my hobby… I have always worked, I only stay with good teammates, great ones who guided me and young people who always accompanied and respected me . I am very satisfied with my profession, my projects and my dreams. I am a girl who is not afraid of time or failure thanks to my parents and brothers. “I’m always in my safe place, I just want to teach and continue to grow with the same love that I received.”

That sweet love of Kvetka who sees her family business flourishing and can’t believe it. Life has a different taste for her. Congratulations!
