Johnson Set to Make an Official Visit on Sept. 1 Labor Day/Football Weekend

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State will receive an early fall semester visit from former Norman and Putnam City North High School hoops standout Jeremiah Johnson. Johnson was on the Cowboys radar early when he was an in-state prospect, but his rise was temporarily paused after he was shot in Oklahoma City. The 6-3 guard reclassified from the 2023 recruiting class to the 2024 and is now playing in Arizona at Phoenix College Prep Academy after playing in the 2022-23 school year at Wasatch Academy in Mt. Pleasant, Utah.

Mike Boynton and Oklahoma State were recruiting Johnson from very early in his prep career.

The now well traveled Johnson has been hitting a stride this summer averaging close to 16 points a game, four rebounds, and over two assists a game playing for LivOn Basketball. He has made several visits, most notably to TCU and SMU.

He now has his official visit scheduled to Oklahoma State for the Labor Day weekend and the football season opener with Central Arkansas for Sept. 1-3. He is also considering LSU as well as offers from Arkansas, Illinois, Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, and Tulsa.

Johnson was a top 20 national prospect before he was shot twice in an incident near an abandoned building in Oklahoma City. Doctors removed the two bullets from his body, but no doubt the incident traumatized Johnson and therein lies the reason for him to transfer and to reclassify.

He is a good student that has seen his basketball talents only escalate and he is now considered a four-star prospect with Rivals ranking him in their Top 150 at No. 136.
