Minas Gerais has increased the number of activities exempt from activity licenses, increasing from 701 to 730 professions that no longer require a public act of authorization to begin activity. The measure entered into force on Saturday (6), following the publication in the Official State Gazette of Resolution 03/2024 of the Management Committee of Redesim-MG.
The measure includes 29 new professions and businesses in the list of low-risk activities and therefore exempt from the permit. These are, for example, the production of electronic games, express delivery service and legal services.
The Secretary of State for Economic Development, Fernando Pasaglia, emphasizes the importance of measures that ensure predictability and legal certainty in improving the business environment and creating jobs and income in municipalities.
“Citizens who want to open their own business cannot wait for permission from the mayor’s office to carry out simple activities with a low level of risk. We will also be rolling out silent approval soon, limiting the wait time for authorization to 60 days. Minas is a pro-entrepreneurial state, and we will do everything possible to ensure that anyone who wants to work is not hindered by excessive bureaucracy.”

Ease of implementation
The inclusion of new types of activities took place by a unanimous decision of the Steering Committee of the National Network for Simplification of Registration and Legalization of Companies and Enterprises (Redesim MG), a body coordinated by the Commercial Council of Minas Gerais (Jucemg), an organization affiliated with the State Secretariat for Economic Development (HQ-MG) .
“This measure represents less red tape and more flexibility for those who want to invest in the territory of Minas Gerais. Because the entrepreneur, who is covered by the exemption, can start his business immediately”, – notes the president of Jucemg, Patricia Vinte Di Iorio.

For the President of the Regional Accounting Council of the State of Minas Gerais (CRC-MG), Rosa Maria Abreu Barros, a member of the management committee of Redesim MG, this measure causes more interest and confidence among entrepreneurs in opening a new business or changing an existing one.
“When we have clear standards, security and speed, and we maintain this uniform process, the accounting profession feels part of that progress. In this way, it achieves deliveries that are really important and add value to our work,” she emphasizes.
The list of all 730 exempted activities is available for consultation on the Redesim MG portal.
