News confirmed, Qatar Airways announces departure of its controversial CEO and arrival of a new one

This Monday, Qatar Airways announced the appointment of a new chief executive to take command of the airline group. After 27 years of service, current CEO Akbar Al Baker will step down effective November 5, to be succeeded as CEO by Engineer Badr Mohammed Al Meer.

Under the leadership of Al Baker, the company has established itself as one of the most recognized and trusted in the world, gaining recognition for its quality of service and high standards of service.

It is no surprise that Qatar Airways has been awarded the title of “Best Airline in the World” seven times, and Hamad International Airport, under its management, has been recognized as “The Best Airport in the World”.

Badr Mohammed Al Meer takes on the role of CEO with a mission to maintain the established high standard of excellence.

The airline also took the opportunity to highlight Al Baker’s fundamental contribution to the company’s success, notably his participation in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in the State of Qatar.
