UNCORE, the agency that manages the “PROJECT 7” group CLOSE YOUR EYES, has announced that it will take legal action against the agency of one of the members.
CLOSE YOUR EYES is a new boy group formed under the JTBC survival show PROJECT 7.
Ahead of the group’s upcoming debut, UNCORE released the following statement in English:
All PROJECT 7 participants and their agencies are fully aware that after signing the participation agreement, they will not be allowed to participate in activities outside the project team with the prior approval of UNCORE if they are selected as final members of the project team.
However, after signing the participation agreement, a separate agency tried to organize national and international events that contradict the terms of the participation agreement. In addition, the agency unilaterally declared that its artists will participate in events with a separate group together with the project group “CLOSE YOUR EYES”, causing significant damage not only to the respective artists, but also to other participants.
What is most disturbing is that this agency forced artists to participate in conflicting activities without informing them properly and without obtaining prior consent, right up to the scheduled dates. This includes enforcing accountability for non-compliance, which is a major concern. UNCORE is preparing for the debut of “CLOSE YOUR EYES” in cooperation with the artists, with the full consent of both the artists and their families, ensuring their safety.
“PROJECT 7” aims to grow a project group made entirely by fans into a global idol group with their sincere support. To achieve this, many employees have put in a significant amount of investment and effort.
As an audition show, it is a promise to the audience, so it must be fulfilled honestly. “PROJECT 7” sought to create a fair and intelligent listening culture at all stages.
UNCORE will not ignore the selfish actions of a particular agency that undermine the hard work of the WORLD ASSEMBLERS, participants, cast and production staff who support “PROJECT 7”. UNCORE strongly warns that the agency’s deliberate interference with CLOSE EYES is a breach of contract, unfair competition and illegal activity, and we will take all necessary legal action.
UNCORE is committed to supporting CLOSE EYES by upholding the spirit of PROJECT 7, our pledge to WORLD ASSEMBLERS, and establishing a culture of fair listening. We will ensure that artists focus exclusively on their core activities during the promised period without engaging in any concurrent activities.
UNCORE has not transferred any performance rights to CLOSE YOUR EYES, MD (merchandise) or related commercial rights to third parties. We urge you to exercise caution with anyone who may falsely claim to have CLOSE EYES related rights and enter into contracts that may cause harm.
