The government plans to hold 12 road auctions in 2024, the Minister of Transport said

According to the minister, the idea is to hold 35 new auctions and “optimize up to 15 contracts” by the end of the Lula government’s term in 2026.

Transport Minister Renan Filho confirmed this Monday afternoon, the 11th, during the XP Political Forum event in São Paulo, that the government plans to hold 12 road auctions next year.

“This year we want to hold three auctions. The idea was to make four,” he said. “Next year we hope to do 12, increasing the number of new auctions in Brazil,” he said.

According to the minister, by the end of Lula’s government, in 2026, it is planned to hold 35 new auctions and “optimize up to 15 contracts”.

According to him, if the goals are achieved, Brazil will receive 50 new concession contracts, which will increase investments in the country to 260 billion reais.
