Unemployment in León – El Sol de León

Leon, Gto.- Leon has a the unemployment rate is 4%, which is equivalent to about 25,000 people who want to fill a vacancy, the city authorities have launched a program for better preparation “Chambo learning module” where they can be trained with up to 12 virtual courses in various fields.

This was explained by the Secretary for Economic Reactivation of Leon. Guillermo Romero Pacheco:

“The unemployment rate is calculated on the basis of the economically active population, that is, more than 800,000 people who work or are working. What is an economically active population? That is, there are almost two million inhabitants in Leon, and we work with more than 830,000 people.”

He pointed out that almost half of those who work have social security:

“Of those, just over half are on welfare, which is about 416,000 or so, so the unemployment rate is based on the people who say they are looking for work in the survey,” he added.

Chamba module offers training courses for women and men on a variety of topics and with formal action, as they were developed by La Salle University.

In the first phase of this platform, 846 thousand pesos were invested three weeks after the launch Camba educational module 297 people have already registered for 12 virtual courses.

At the end of the training, the student receives a certificate that has educational value and also contains a QR code so that employers can check and verify its authenticity.

Director of Economics, Maria Fernando Rodriguezannounced that the second phase is coming, which will invest 160 thousand pesos and will collaborate with other universities and research and innovation centers.
